Nineteen of the Russian's twenty-one victories have been achieved on hard courts
A resurgent the Russian player claimed his first championship for nearly 30 months with a win over Corentin Moutet in the competition final.
The athlete, a former top-ranked player, has had a difficult season, winning just one match at the Grand Slams and suffering a meltdown at the US Open.
His unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and issues with his serve in especial - resulted in him exiting of the elite rankings and finally separating with former trainer Cervara.
Now training with Johansson and Goetzke, he has consistently improved in the recent weeks - culminating in a tightly fought three-set win over opponent Moutet.
This marks his maiden title following the Italian tournament and initial on a hardcourt since that period of that year.
Victory also means the Russian has won 21 championships at 21 different events.
"For the first time I have attended a event with my two daughters together, so to get a trophy is really nice," commented ranked player the champion.
"This victory is in honour of my younger daughter Victoria, because the first title I won when my older daughter her name was born was for her."
Medvedev, the past champion, had lost his last six finals, including in the German tournament previously this season.
Medvedev's retrieving strategy and regular outbursts on the tennis court had led observers to wonder if his skill to perform at the top level was over.
But the player has made changes in the last few weeks, striving to come to the net and compete assertively, reinforced by an improved serving game.
Medvedev recovered from a break down in the opening set against the tricky Moutet, winning 4 of the final five points to go ahead.
The pair exchanged break points in the second set before Moutet, attempting for his first professional championship, took control to force a third set.
The opponent defended four initial opportunities in a tight third set before the champion won the break to fifteen to secure the win.
Suitably, he secured victory with a shot at the front of the court, with his opponent unable to control a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
